Can't log in / account locked

If you can’t sign in to DASH, the cause is usually one of a few common situations. Work through this page from the top — most are quick to resolve yourself.

Your account is locked after failed attempts

Section titled “Your account is locked after failed attempts”

After six consecutive failed login attempts on the same account, DASH locks the account for one hour and shows a message with the remaining time.

  • Trying again during the lockout shows the same message and does not extend the hour.
  • Wait for the lockout to end, then sign in with the correct password. If you’re not sure of your password, don’t keep guessing — reset it instead.
  • Failed multi-factor (MFA) attempts count toward the same limit, so repeated wrong codes can also lock the account.

A new account must have its email address verified before you can sign in. Check your inbox (and spam folder) for the verification email and follow its link. If it’s expired or missing, request a new one from the sign-in screen. See Registration.

If MFA is enabled and you can’t produce a code — for example your phone is lost or your authenticator app was reset — use a backup code instead. On the code prompt, choose to use a backup code and enter one of the single-use codes you saved when you set up MFA.

  • Each backup code works once. See Backup codes.
  • If you have no backup codes left and can’t sign in at all, ask an Admin or the Account Owner on your account to help you recover access.

See MFA (authenticator app) and Passkeys for how each sign-in method works.

Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen to receive a reset link by email. Follow it, set a new password, and sign in. See Reset your password.

If your login works but you can’t see the materials, certificates or people you expect, you may be in a different DASH account than intended. Sign out and back in, and select the correct account if prompted. If you should have access but don’t, ask an Admin on the correct account to invite you — see Team management.

If none of the above works, contact an Admin or the Account Owner on your account. They can confirm your account status and re-invite or reactivate you if needed.
