Run a dry-run
A dry-run is a test poll. It fetches a few of the most recent documents from a source channel and produces sample certificates so you can check your poll settings and mapping before the channel goes live. Dry-run certificates are kept separate — they never appear in your main certificate list.
Run the dry-run
Section titled “Run the dry-run”- Open the material and go to its source channel.
- Select Dry-run. DASH runs a one-off poll that pulls the most recent documents at the source, ignoring the normal start point and schedule.
- Wait for the poll to finish. DASH creates one sample certificate per document fetched and flags each as a dry-run.
Review the result side by side
Section titled “Review the result side by side”Dry-run certificates open in a dedicated review view for the channel, with the source document on the left and the mapped certificate on the right. For PDFs, the mapped values are highlighted on the original document so you can confirm each field was read from the correct place.
Use the side-by-side view to check that:
- The right fields were picked up, from the right places on the document.
- Repeating rows (such as test results) are all present and in order.
- Dates, units and identifiers came through as expected.
After a successful dry-run
Section titled “After a successful dry-run”If the samples look right, activate the channel to start real polling — see Configure polling. If they do not, adjust the definition map and run another dry-run. Repeat until the mapping is clean.
